Huanchaco
A seaside fishing town near Trujillo, Huanchaco still rides the caballitos de totora, reed boats used for thousands of years. Once the port of Chan Chan, it became Latin America's first World Surfing Reserve in 2012 and claims to be the birthplace of ceviche.
