# Oriental Bay

Wellington, New Zealand

Wellington's seaside promenade and beach, just southeast of the city beneath Mount Victoria. Named in 1843 for the settler ship Oriental, it is fringed by heritage Norfolk pines and centred on a golden, partly imported beach much loved by locals.
