# Madonna di Lourdes Sanctuary

Verona, Italy

A hilltop sanctuary above Verona, built on the site of a former Austrian fort; an earlier sanctuary in the Stimate complex was destroyed by a bomb in April 1945. Dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes, it is crowned by a dome and an illuminated statue of the Madonna that watches over the city by night.
