Venice, Italy
Fondaco dei Tedeschi

A Renaissance trading house beside the Rialto Bridge, rebuilt between 1505 and 1508 as the warehouse, customs post, and lodging of Venice's German merchants. Its painted façades, once frescoed by Giorgione and Titian, are long gone, but the great courtyard survives.
