# Bab El Khadra

Tunis, Tunisia

A medina gate whose name means the gate of the green gardens, once leading toward Carthage and Ariana. Rebuilt by the French in 1881 in a distinctly European style resembling a castle gateway, it survives today as a freestanding monument on the medina's northern edge.
