The monumental stone building was designed by Gherardo Bosio and built between nineteen thirty-nine and nineteen forty-two as the Casa del Fascio, the headquarters of the Fascist Party. In nineteen fifty-one, it was converted into the Polytechnic University of Tirana, the country's main centre of technical training.
