# Palace of Culture

Tirana, Albania

The foundation stone was laid by Khrushchev in nineteen fifty-nine as "a gift from the Soviet people". After the Soviet-Albanian split, the building was completed by Albanian architects, and today it houses the Theatre of Opera and Ballet and the National Library.
