Twenty-First of December Mosaic

The Tirana Mosaic is the floor of a Roman villa from the first century of the Common Era, discovered by chance in nineteen seventy-two beneath the foundations of the Partizani block. Its geometric motifs, fish and hidden cross attest to an early Christian community, on whose site the socialist neighbourhood known as Twenty-First of December was later built.
