# Academy of Sciences

Tirana, Albania

This stone building has housed three institutions. It was home to the new state's legislative bodies and the setting for the proclamation of Ahmet Zogu as King of the Albanians in nineteen twenty-eight. Today it houses the Academy of Sciences. The architect Kristo Sotiri gave the building its present form, while the northern entrance with its monumental staircase dates from a later phase of construction.
