Balmain

Balmain is an inner-west Sydney peninsula named after colonial surgeon William Balmain. Once a gritty maritime and industrial centre of shipyards and docks, and a birthplace of the Australian Labor Party in 1891, it is now a gentrified suburb of terraces, pubs and ferries.
