Suzhou Confucian Temple
Founded in 1035 by the statesman Fan Zhongyan, this Song temple pioneered the union of Confucian shrine and state school. Now a stone-inscription museum, it guards famous Song steles, including an ancient star map and a detailed city plan of medieval Suzhou.
