Place Kléber

Place Kléber, Strasbourg

Strasbourg's great central square, renamed in 1840 for the Revolutionary general Jean-Baptiste Kléber, whose remains lie in a vault beneath his statue. The eighteenth-century Aubette frames its north side, and the city's giant Christmas tree rises here each winter.
