Lead Mosque of Shkodër

This Ottoman mosque was built by Mehmed Pasha Bushati between seventeen seventy-three and seventeen seventy-four and is distinguished by its twelve lead domes. On the sixteenth of November, nineteen ninety, it became the first mosque to reopen publicly in atheist Albania, with more than fifty thousand worshippers present according to estimates from Albanian sources.
