Saint Stephen's Cathedral

Construction of Saint Stephen's Cathedral began in eighteen fifty-eight under the direction of an Austrian engineer. This Catholic cathedral was one of the largest churches in the Balkans at the time. In nineteen sixty-seven, the communist regime closed it and converted it into the Palace of Sports. After nineteen ninety, it was returned to use as a church.
