# Torre del Oro

Seville, Spain

A twelve-sided watchtower on the bank of the Guadalquivir, built by the Almohad rulers around 1220 to guard the harbor with a great chain across the river. Once a prison and a chapel, the Tower of Gold now houses a naval museum.
