Seville, Spain
La Giralda

The bell tower of Seville Cathedral, born as the minaret of the city's Almohad mosque and completed in 1198. Its lower brickwork is purely Islamic, while a Renaissance belfry crowned by a bronze weathervane was added in the 1500s, fusing two civilizations in one landmark.
