# Convent of San Francisco

Santa Fe, Argentina

Founded by Franciscans in 1673 and completed in 1688, this is among Argentina's oldest buildings. Its thick earthen walls and a coffered timber ceiling assembled without iron nails survive intact, and it was declared a National Historical Monument in 1942.
