# Monument to the Battle of Salta

Salta, Argentina

Inaugurated in 1913 for the battle's centenary, this monument marks General Belgrano's decisive victory over royalist forces on the twentieth of February 1813. Designed by Torcuato Tasso with bronzes cast under Salta sculptor Lola Mora, it crowns the field where independence fighters once fell.
