Spanish Steps, Rome

A monumental Baroque staircase of 135 steps, built between 1723 and 1726, linking Piazza di Spagna with the church of Trinità dei Monti above. Funded by a French legacy and named for the nearby Spanish embassy, it has long been a gathering place in Rome.
