Rhodes, Greece
Kritika (Cretan Quarter)

A seaside quarter of low whitewashed houses southwest of Rhodes town, settled by Muslim refugees from Crete around the turn of the 20th century. Its name means the Cretan place, and its modest cottages by the water recall a forgotten chapter of Aegean migration.
