Rhodes, Greece
Kahal Shalom Synagogue

Completed in 1577, Kahal Shalom is the oldest surviving synagogue in Greece. Built by Sephardic Jews in the old Jewish quarter of Rhodes, it survived the 1944 deportation that destroyed its community and still holds services in summer, its pebble-mosaic floor and memorial plaques intact.
