# Bab el-Mrissa

Rabat, Morocco

Built between 1270 and 1280 by the Marinid sultan Abu Yusuf Yaqub, Bab el-Mrissa in Salé once opened onto a protected harbour and shipyard. Ships entered through its tall horseshoe arch from a canal linked to the Bou Regreg.
