Quebec City, Canada
Citadelle of Quebec

Built by the British from 1819 to 1832, this star-shaped Vauban-style fortress crowns Cap Diamant. Still an active military base and home of the Royal 22e Régiment, it also serves as a residence of Canada's Governor General.
