# Sillustani

Puno, Peru

On a plateau above Lake Umayo near Puno, Sillustani preserves towering stone funerary towers called chullpas. Built by the Colla and later the Inca to entomb their elite, the tallest rises about 12 meters, marked by a carved lizard relief.
