Arrábida Bridge

Arrábida Bridge, Porto

A vast reinforced-concrete arch carrying road traffic across the lower Douro, opened in 1963 to a design by engineer Edgar Cardoso. Its 270-metre span was the longest concrete arch in the world at the time, and visitors can now climb its curve above the river.
