Just east of Phuket Town, a short bridge crosses to Ko Sirey, home to Thailand's largest community of Urak Lawoi sea gypsies. Roughly 1,900 people live in stilt houses by the shore, while a hilltop temple shelters an 18-metre reclining golden Buddha.
