Khao Lak
A stretch of beaches in Phang Nga province, about 60 kilometers north of Phuket, backed by forested hills. Hardest hit in Thailand by the 2004 tsunami, it has since been rebuilt as a quieter resort coast, with memorials honoring those who died.
