The Presbytere

The Presbytere, New Orleans

Begun in 1791 and finished in 1813, this Spanish colonial building was designed to house clergy but never served that purpose. The mirror image of the Cabildo, it frames St. Louis Cathedral and now holds Louisiana State Museum exhibits on Mardi Gras and Hurricane Katrina.
