Preservation Hall, founded in 1961 by Allan and Sandra Jaffe on Saint Peter Street, exists to protect traditional New Orleans jazz. Its bare, intimate room, without amplification or alcohol, hosts nightly concerts and is home to the touring Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
