Sanjō-dōri Street
Sanjō-dōri is Nara's main shopping street, climbing east from JR Nara Station past Sarusawa Pond toward Kasuga Taisha and Nara Park. Following an ancient avenue of the old capital, it lines its slope with shops, restaurants, hotels, and lively mochi-pounding demonstrations.
