# Nigatsu-dō

Nara, Japan

A hillside hall within the Todai-ji complex, rebuilt in 1669 after fire. Each March it hosts the ancient Omizutori fire-and-water rite, held without break since 760. Its great wooden veranda offers a sweeping view across Nara at dusk.
