Naramachi Old Town
Naramachi is the old merchant quarter south of Sarusawa Pond, a maze of narrow lanes lined with wooden machiya townhouses. Built largely over the former grounds of Gangō-ji temple, it grew into a thriving trading district during the Edo period.
