# Mount Wakakusa

A grassy hill of 342 meters rising behind Nara's temples, Mount Wakakusa offers sweeping views over the city. Each January the slopes are set ablaze in the Yamayaki festival. An ancient burial mound crowns its summit, and deer roam its open flanks.
