Mochiidono Shopping Street

Mochiidono Shopping Street, Nara

Mochiidono is one of Nara's oldest covered shopping streets, running south from Higashimuki toward Naramachi. Its curious name springs from a legend of rice cakes carried on a dragon-slaying quest, and today its arcade holds more than seventy shops and cafes.
