Valentin-Karlstadt Museum

Valentin-Karlstadt Museum, Munich

An eccentric little museum inside the medieval Isartor gate-tower, opened in 1959 to honour the Munich comedians Karl Valentin and Liesl Karlstadt. It mixes genuine memorabilia with deadpan absurdist exhibits, and a nostalgic café, the Turmstüberl, occupies an upper floor.
