Munich's city museum occupies a late-Gothic former arsenal and stables on Sankt-Jakobs-Platz, founded in 1888. Its treasures include Erasmus Grasser's late-fifteenth-century Morris Dancers and vast photography, film and costume holdings. The building closed in 2024 for a long renovation, with reopening expected around 2031.
