# Cuvilliés Theatre

A jewel of Rococo court theatre inside the Munich Residenz, built between 1751 and 1753 by François de Cuvilliés for the Bavarian elector. Mozart's Idomeneo premiered here in 1781, and its carved gilded boxes, dismantled and hidden during the war, survive today.
