Alter Hof (Old Court)
The first Wittelsbach residence in Munich, a fortified court begun in the late 12th century. Emperor Louis the Fourth ruled from here in the 14th century, and the Gothic complex is famous for the Affenturm, the Monkey Tower with its carved bay window.
