Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel, Montreal

Known as the Sailors' Church, this Old Montreal chapel was founded by Marguerite Bourgeoys in 1655 and rebuilt in 1771. Mariners once hung model ships from its ceiling in thanks for safe voyages, and a harbour-facing statue of the Virgin still watches over the river.
