Government Palace

The seat of Yucatán's state government rises on the northern side of the Plaza Grande. Within its arcaded galleries hang the sweeping murals of Fernando Castro Pacheco, painted between 1971 and 1979 to trace the peninsula's history from Maya times through conquest and revolution.
