Merida, Mexico
Korean Migration Centennial Monument

Dedicated in 2005, this Mérida monument marks one hundred years since 1,033 Korean labourers reached Yucatán in 1905 to work the henequen plantations. A small tower and plaque, it commemorates a hardship-filled migration and the Korean Mexican community born from it.
