Crowned by a lattice spire rising 162 metres above St Kilda Road, Arts Centre Melbourne opened in stages during the 1980s. Designed by Roy Grounds, it houses the State Theatre, Playhouse, Fairfax Studio, and the riverside Hamer Hall.
