Maastricht, Netherlands
Helpoort (Hell Gate)

The oldest surviving city gate in the Netherlands, built around 1230 as part of Maastricht's first stone wall. Its twin towers and thick defensive masonry once guarded the southern approach before later wall rings left it standing as a relic.
