# Real Felipe Fortress

Lima, Peru

A vast pentagonal stone fortress guarding the port of Callao, begun in 1747 to the designs of Louis Godin after a devastating earthquake. The largest Spanish fort in the Americas, it was the crown's final stronghold here and now houses the Army Museum.
