St. Gertrude's Abbey

An Augustinian priory founded in 1206 by Henry the First, Duke of Brabant, raised to an abbey in 1449. Suppressed in 1797 and bombed in 1944, its surviving buildings beside the Gothic church are now listed heritage and converted into homes.
