Ladeuzeplein

Ladeuzeplein, Leuven

Leuven's largest central square, laid out in 1806 and built up from 1812, more than a century before construction of the rebuilt university library began. Named after a former university rector, it hosts markets, fairs and a Christmas market, and features Jan Fabre's giant beetle sculpture Totem.
