# Fonske (Fons Sapientiae)

A small bronze fountain on Rector De Somerplein, officially the Fons Sapientiae or Fountain of Wisdom. Sculpted by Jef Claerhout in 1975 for the university's 550th anniversary, it shows a student letting knowledge trickle into his head and is a beloved emblem of student Leuven.
