Maruyama Park
Kyoto's most popular cherry-blossom park, Maruyama opened in 1886 beside Yasaka Shrine. Its centerpiece is a great weeping cherry tree, lit at night in spring, and the grounds fill with crowds for hanami and New Year's celebrations.
