An elegant retirement villa built in 1863 by Maeda Nariyasu, thirteenth lord of the Kaga domain, for his mother. Beside Kenroku-en, its refined shoin rooms, vivid painted ceilings, and Dutch stained glass survive intact as a rare daimyo residence.
