Kanazawa Castle

Seat of the Maeda lords for 14 generations, Kanazawa Castle was begun in the 1580s and rebuilt many times after fire. Its white lead-tile roofs, varied stone walls, and the Ishikawa-mon gate survive beside carefully reconstructed turrets and storehouses.
